2022 MPD Year in Review
Welcome to the Holidays my friends! Hopefully you are reading this curled up with a big mug of hot chocolate, marshmallows, a big fire and lots of loved ones. We are always so surprised how quickly each year flies by, and one of our wildest moments is taking a quick look back on the year to see just how far we’ve come. We love scrapbooking and making memories, and this exercise is no different. It’s a great way to reflect on the Team that got us here and how we can manifest new goals for the New Year!
We wanted to share some of our highlights with MPD and some of our personal milestones.
What a wonderful year it has been here at MPD! It feels as though 2022 has flown by but there is really a lot to celebrate and look forward to.
January
We kicked off the year Incorporating! This was such a big deal not only for MPD but also personally. When I launched MPD Inc back in 2011, I had such big dreams for my design career and company. My personal life took my family down to the Cayman Islands for several years, which meant giving up my residency and my Incorporation. 2022 marked the year MPD Inc. was finally back in full-force and I couldn’t be happier with how much growth and change has happened. We love what we do and can’t wait to work with our wonderful clients in the New Year.
We also wrapped up a lovely basement apartment and started on some big designs BTS and planning for our upcoming projects.
We started working behind-the-scenes on HGTV as a ghost design team back in 2021, which wrapped up in 2022. We were so excited to see such transformative work happen in these century old farmhouses. Thanks for having us Farmhouse Facelift, Billy and Carolyn and the entire production team at HGTV!

February
We continued with fabulous farmhouse check ins, and installs, and also some of our own MPD projects. We wrapped up Project Mariner and got it ready to shoot!
More FAB Farmhouse Facelift on HGTV with Billy and Carolyn, loving how these spaces are coming to life.
Personally, Justyn and I celebrated a YEAR together. And OH what a year it has been! From puppies, to travels, to officially moving in together…and learning to skate yet again ha ha!
March
We wrapped up Project Yorkminster and got it ready to shoot! Such a beautiful project that we can’t wait to see published (coming 2023 to House & Home!). It truly embodies so much of what our clients always wanted for their home that they had lived in for over 12 years. When it came time to renovate this space, it was all hands on deck, and then…COVID! Wrapping this project was such a milestone because it meant our clients got to move back into the space and finally ENJOY IT. We were so happy with how the design worked out, and our special collaboration with Cambria Countertops and the client. More to come on this in 2023!
We also installed some fabulous spaces in farmhouse land and started on one of our final HGTV Farmhouse Facelifts.
April
We started on Project Coady with a dramatic exterior make over. Then it was time to transform the interior with one of our favourite contracting teams. We also wrapped up some lovely farmhouses and started some cottage designs. Then we hopped on a plane and went to Costa Rica!

May
May was in full bloom wrapping up Project Glenvale with a fabulous shoot with Kerri Torrey.
We were also full swing at Project Coady with an exterior transformation of dreams!
We’re so proud of our exterior transformations as they are so indicative of our interiors within. Check out our blog here for our favourite exterior paint colours - we’re going bold this year.
We also wrapped up Project Yorkminster, shooting with the magical dream team Me&Mo and Lauren Miller.
June
We wrapped Project Mariner and shot some incredible Afters with Kerri Torrey. How is this the same space? Dreams!
This month was all about growth and bringing our team together! As we take on more clients and grow, we’ve also grown our team with these talented women. Which also means we need more desks!
July
All our projects were in full design planning and construction mode and we we’re focused on ABODE and re-branding! Growth in full effect. We also took a nice little trip to Europe - Paris, Santorini, Paros, Mykonos and Athens. C’est bon!
August
With cottage design and farmhouses in various states of design, Canadian summers are where it’s at for the world of construction. A fun little before and after with HGTV’s Farmhouse Facelift!
We also launched our YouTube channel to start sharing some FREE design content, which we can’t wait to build on in 2023. Check it out here!
September
We wrapped up Project Georgetown and started planning the styling and shoot moments, coming early 2023!
We also teamed up with Posterjack for one of our favourite Giveaways, capturing moments and putting them into Flat Lay Photobooks. We love their framed pieces and can’t wait to collaborate for another Giveaway in the New Year.
October
We went back to school with Kimberly Seldon Business of Design, making sure we are enriching not only our process but also our client experience. Making projects as seamless and organized for our clients is one of my passions, and it was wonderful to have this refresher, as well as tips to help with current areas in need.
We launched our MPD mentorship project to help aspiring designers find their way and to share our journey! Curious about our program or interested in signing up? Check it out here.
We also wrapped Project Coady and styled some beautiful new shelves.
November
This month took into plans for 2023.
We also had some incredible Designer Meet Ups! We loved being a part of the panel with Rebecca Hay. Thank you for having us and connecting us to so many other wonderful designers.
December
We bundled up designing cottages for 2023 and also got news that our House & Home article is set to launch early 2023, talk about manifesting dreams to reality! What a year. We can’t wait for what is next, and to share some very exciting news with you all.
I can’t wait to create more FREE accessible You Tube videos and content for all of you design lovers and home decor enthusiast. We love connecting with you and helping you grow as designers!
