Design Highlight: Bedding

After the long weekend, all you want to do is … go back to bed! That being said, lately we’ve absolutely loved styling our clients rooms down to the bedding and pillows. We have some inspiration and tricks to share with you, as well as the bedding you’re going to be obsessed with.

Keep the big picture in mind: We here at MPD think there is a lot to be said for making your bed in the mornings. There is no better way to start the day, week, and it also acts as a special treat to get into every single night. On that note, we like to dream and scheme for clients the “final look”, which includes all of the additional pillows and top bedding.

Yes, I said it. There are layers of bedding, and the top bedding is generally the bedding we invest the most in because it is visually tying the entire space together, adding playful texture, patterns and overall inviting coziness. We say that because we’ve also created and sell the bottom layer and top layer of bedding that is not only affordable but totally luxurious for those fabulous nights sleeps.

Invest in your rest: These days most of us are “smart shoppers”. We know the lay of the land and where to find quality, and I think if you’re looking to update your bedroom, your bedding is the perfect place to start. Once you’ve experienced soft, natural textures in your bedding…mark my words, you will never go back!

We love the ABODE collection of Midnight Trim Duvet and Pillow set to really elevate any bed combination. The best part? You can also purchase the bottom Cloud Set of Sheets and Pillows to tie it all together.

Layers and Natural Textures: It’s all about the pattern play here, and layering in some classic, soothing colours in all your pillow collections. We love a contemporary mix of Euro Shams and Lumbar Pillows with the perfectly selected stripe and pattern play. We also recommend going with as natural of products as possible, cotton all the way, linens if you ‘re ready to invest and down inserts to keep things professional looking.

Neutral theme with a twist: We recommend keeping furniture in neutral natural textures and tones and going with a gentle pop of colour as an accent. We also love any space that can incorporate a natural arrangement of foliage and add some height into a space.

Investing in a good nights sleep that is also stylish is a wonderful update to your home. Like we said, stay as natural as possible with your tones and textures and you will never go wrong. Happy snoozing, friends!
